hi people sorry for digging up old posts but...

iv had my coil light flash on my mondeo tdci 03 plate.

basicly it will start fine drive fine. but when i put my foot down to over take on the duel carriage way it will hesitate and the coil light will flash.
now if i try and boot it again it will not go above 2000rpm (when the turbo kicks in?) and it will cut out. it will then start up fine and drive like normal until i boot it again.
iv changed the cam position sensor which i thought had cured it but its been doing it again recently.
it doesn't do it all the time. now iv thought it might be a over boost problem and the ecu shutting the turbo off or something?

any ideas would be a great help!!

thanks
josh

I had to fit 4 new injectors and have them coded

I seriously doubt it!

It'll pick up the code without it flashing. What year is yours? Before 53 reg theyre not compliant with OBD2

I seriously doubt it!

Had a few poorly TDCi engines in the workshop...

As well as a diag read and looking at the data (got all the gear - not just OBD stuff!)

Its worth cleaning out the EGR and if you have the 130, the MAF sensor...

Check the intercooler pipes too, they split..

I did an 'wiki' thing about cleaning out the EGR:

On my old e46 I removed it an fitted a bypass. Th car seemed much better. I sold it like this after putting 20 k on ill effects and easily passed an mot in fat there was a lot less soot when booting it after fitting.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

ertainly worth doing the EGR.. and the inlet manifold... The pics in that write up are on my own car and as you can see was well choked up..

Am thinking my injectors are on their way out now though.. no codes yet, but with over 100k on them and a distinct 'knock' I dont think its gonna be long :(

Tis worth doing the MAF sensor too if yours is a 130..

again I did a guide a few years back:

iv tried to get it in limp mode tonight but it wouldnt do it. its strange!

yeah it did have my email on the guide and was getting lots of positive feedback from owners who took the plunge...

certainly does seem to improve the drivability and the mpg :)

mine is doing 45mpg at the moment - though that is town driving and a suspect injector or 4....
