Yea i have removed the intercooler so its running NA at the moment, as this mean im getting alot less backfiring through the carb.

Ill have another play with thefueling and timing tomorrow.

What ???

Are you driving the car as a complete car, or with bits missing ?

Just take the car to someone who as a clue what they are doing. You dont need a rolling road for that. But if the car isnt even running as a proper turbocharged setup, how the hell is it ever expected to run right ?

Im running it as a complete NA car at the moment, if you read what i wrote you would have realised this.

Iv set the fuel pressure to 4psi, and its is raising with boost.

Not sure tbh, from memory i belive its supposed to be set between 3.5-5psi. Ill do a search to double check.

Edit: Just double checked and it should be set between 3psi-5psi. So mine sounds right.

OK...please explain.

a n/a car and it has fuel pressure raising with boost ? No, your posts arent clear.

Ive tried to decypher some posts, and I think you are saying the problem is there n/a and with turbo system fully operational ?

If so...go back to my original post.

It could be lean, it could be timing, could be an ignition/spark or it could be a valvetrain issue.

Either way, it would be very foolish loading the car with boost if its lean, as you will melt something.

Get someone who can do some proper diagnosis before you do cause damage.

When i had the turbo plumbed up it was rising fuel pressure, but since dissconnecting it, clearly the fuel pressure wont raise with as the plenum pressure isnt raising. Whilst running NA iv also changed my megajolt mad and fueling needle.

Then when i either resolve the problem or manage to get the mini up to the rollers, i will change things back so the turbo is connected up.

You dont need rollers to diagnose such a problem. Just knowledge.

It should be even easier if its doing the same problem in n/a mode

Sounds like an ignition fault to me. Maybe something simple like a plug gone down or wrongly gapped?
Is your sensor shielded?
Can you try another coil pack?

Sorry if these questions have been asked before.

Has anyone here actually came to the car and tried to diagnose ?

I suspect not.

And trying to diagnose from second hand info posted on the net, is nigh on impossible. It relies on the person carrying out the work having some understanding.

So have you checked all the aspects I mentioned, and are they normal ?

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

Problem solved, i changed the coil pack and EDIS 4 this morning and double checked the timing with a timing light and everything was working and advancing correctly. I took it for a drive, everything was going great with no backfiring and the engine was running right.

But then it started backfiring again, so i took the car home again checked the timing and found that it wasnt advancing, so instantly i thought its running in limp mode off EDIS4, i checked my megajolt unit and the light was on so that looked ok, but i looked at the plug and it looked very slightly wonky and not quite in, so i wiggled it a bit and sat it level, as i did this the revs picked up.

So after all that it was just a dodgy plug connection on my megajolt.

Thanks for the advice and offeres of helping me.
