First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

Herefordshire

Nic Rizzarardiadioni's run from avon:

60ft: 2.310
330ft: 5.847
660ft: 8.547
MPH1: 92.47
990ft: 10.788
1320ft: 12.793
MPH2: 116.18

Over excited by the fact that I hadnt ruined my engine, and thinking the run should be good for at least second, I decided that I would up the boost thanks to my new found ability on fri night.

A new map (written in bed) was put in and eventually I got a run against Oli from here.

A huge burn out and then some confusion on the start that neither of us know what the hell it was for.....and then a popped head gasket!

Oh well, of the weekend I only managed one clean run and it was so unfortunate Jim couldnt beat it I really wanted him to do it.

Still many thanks to:

Managed to get in 12 runs over the weekend (bizarrely 5 on Saturday and 7 on Sunday). On both days I managed to miss 3rd gear on the first run.

Discounting these two runs I managed a display of consistency the whole weekend with only 0.217sec between my best and worst 1/4 and 0.111sec on the 60ft times!

Considering that the car is still all steel panels and original glass, has a 6 point cage and standard subframes I'm quite happy with a personal best of 14.914 sec @ 91.38mph with a 60ft of 2.411sec. Best 60ft of the weekend was 2.323sec and fastest terminal was 91.93mph.

I'll need to get the car weighed and then try and work out what to do next to get the weight down as I don't think there is any more to come from the engine as it is. Possibly a set of lighter wheels and a rear disc conversion to try and reduce revolving mass.

A fantastic weekend all round and I managed to avoid getting sunburnt!

14.914 sec 1/4 mile @ 91.38mph, NA 1293cc on 1.1/2" SU's (all steel and glass shell)

Cheers for the good words gents, I was not aiming to do that at all,, honest! Saturdays nitrous run was to see if I could still do 11.54 after the winters engine rebuild and specifcation change. I was in two minds if it would help or hinder as I have lowered shift points, and fitted a lower spec cam and now use 5 gears over the quarter, it worked 11.33 then I went nuts for Sunday and tried what I tried last year when it went pop, and got it right this year. Knocking on the door hard for a ten now.

Nic you should have said Hi, Always like a natter with yourself remember lining up with you many times in the past and always enjoyed our talks/battles up the strip.

OK a break down
1.695 60ft
4.687 330ft
7.12449 660ft
101.55 MPH
9.131 990ft
11.00073 1320ft
124.98 mph

Pleased no, over the moon yes! I then tried to get into the tens but the I made a small mistake on two runs and the track would not hold anymore power off the line with my A048s.

I drove the car home and was planning on using it as the daily this week but on a check over earlier today I have a repair to do, the launches have taken their toll

The Maguire of death managed 15.3 with only two gears, we're not sure which two but we think they might be 3rd & 4th. Hopefully we'll have it sorted for MITP.

More impressively neither of us died in a blaze of glory!
