got clamped last year, got charged for a release fee, told them i could take it off the car ect, they said they would still chase me for the fee. phoned the police they told me to pay up! and not to tuch there property...

They have to prove you took the clamp off and besides, they have clamped you for a law you haven't broken, that's their problem.

If you don't pay they could always take you to a County Court where they'll say you were taxless, you prove you were and they look like a bunch of cunts.
