Ok, so a big development in the project - i'v actually bought an engine!!! I've been rather impatient, having said i'll wait til i graduate but my easter revision has been a major drag and I got bored on ebay lol

Metty turbo engine with the 'box, block, pistons, camshaft, crank and head but without pushrods, rockergear, any ancillaries or the turbo!

On one hand a bit miffed I didnt get the turbo included, but I wasnt planning on using the T3 anyway as im opting for a GT17 now with a Matty manifold - providing he's willing to make me one! *wink*

Right so i'v kind of changed my plan a bit, but not majorly. Here's the new one:

Providing the engine is still in good working condition im not going to bore it out to 1293 anymore, as it incurs more cost than is really necessary, what with needing new pistons as well as the cost of the machining and then adding that to the student budget lol

Now, obviously as i'v already got a lot of components for the engine sorted, what bits actually need changing if im going to be running 10-12psi odd.

Benross has already suggested uprating the clutch and diff.

Are these bits fit for the job?

New diaphragm: http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=...id=34696&title=

New clutch plate: http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=pb&pid=35698

Diff: http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=pb&pid=35941

Are those parts going to allow the car to be driveable as it will be my everyday driver.

Please also let me know if theres anything i've missed too or would be a worthwhile upgrade whilst the engine is apart.

Laavly Jubbly!

Bump! Maybe I should start this as a project thread now rather than a gathering information thread like it started off as!
