Got the arches tubbed finally, though its not something I ever want to do to a shell I don't intend to paint. A worthwhile mod, but complete bastard of a job!

I've spent all weekend either wrestling with the bottom arms on my mates disastra or up ladders in the back room doing all the shitty time consuming jobs before paint. Got a deadline of 4.36 on thursday to have it painted, sort the skirting board on the chimney breast and lay the floor. fook.

The MPI is running again. Done proper re-wiring, upgrade clutch and pressure plate done.

Need to sort out steering and suspension for MOT (which was due in February).

On the plus side - Uni finishes at the end of May and there's no sign of a job so gonna have plently time to get it on the road.

Wow Oz - seems like only yesterday you were starting your course! And I'm also in the 'Looking for work' catagory too, and am learning how hard that is - good luck!
(Oh and what clutch/pressure plate combo are you using?)

Back to the thread, my project - it's going slowly! (So many other things to do!)
As Richard (turbominivanman) pointed out to me some time ago, it doesn't actually qualify as a car!

Hey G,

It feels like longer than 4 years..... lol

It's not a good time to be looking for employment..... so the very best of luck mate.

Clutch/pressure plate combo is a per this thread.

Hoping to be on the road by summer.

Also, Mrs Oz suggested we use the Student loan to by a another car... so I've got a Golf GT TDi so the Mini is now an offical project car. *happy* Ace.

Fitted the crank and the 4-bolt main cap today, all the right clearances and end float. Well pleased.

I'm finally back to working on my Mini after a slightly unexpected project turned up which is nice, the loose deadline of this summer I had set is long gone though. I'm hoping to have a finished shell within the next few weeks if things go well.

On the subject of jobs, I've been looking for a few years. I've been working nights in a job I dislike which has nothing to do with my skills or interests. I'm really struggling to find anything in the line of work I'm looking to go into, but a few months ago I found a job which was perfect. I managed to get to the interview stage and went for a 6 hour assessment but I found out last Friday that I didn't get it. I really am devastated about it, I can't think how I could have been more suited to the job. I'm feeling quite dejected about just how difficult it is to get a job which is relevant to my skills, I certainly don’t feel I can put up with my current job for very much longer at all. In the nicest sense possible it is reassuring to know that other people are finding it really difficult as well.

Just got mine completely stripped, am still deciding whether or not to take it too be acid dipped or sand it all down my self and spend the time removing all the underseal etc. Currently saving for all the goodies aswell so by the time the shell is solid i should be able to trial fit everything.

The turbo build has finally started
