just looked on my block, no numbers on there. and as you know NO cooling problems.

Best 1/4 mile 13.2 seconds @116 mph

always have used numbered blocks and never had cooling probs..........usually blown the feckers up first or snapped a drive shaft or stripped a first motion shaft etc. etc.

thread may be old and ure questions answered but coming from high compression normally aspirated stuff the lads from the rally x scene always used the old a series blocks, as the casting was thicker and offered more protection against heat / combustion between the pots also took longer for the metal to become hot.. i used no thermostat and a metro rad and was ok, i had to have the fans running constant and was ok unless sat on the grid / starting gate for ages then id begin to have probs, but only if i was sat there 4 ages........... i have had issues with the later a+ stuff ie g reg up over which i rectified with an 1100 rad which works toptastically ! also putting a race shim in the head

I have the later A+ block and it did run warm with my super two core rad when pushing around 12psi, so moved rad in to boot, running 15psi all day no problemo!!! will run full chat round curborough all day.....
