its running like a sack of shit in general. runs lean before boost, then perfect on for about 500 - 1000rpms untill it does the cut out thing.

just drove a 35min drive home which should of took 15.

some one else already pointed out that it says on the tin that the oil was not suitable for a turbo engine?

I'm not having a go, but simply trying to suggest a possibe cause for your oil to turn to sludge in such short time scale. I have never seen anything like it, and i'd be surprised if anyone else has.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

right well ive stripped and cleaned it all out today and il get the pics up 2moz for you all to laugh at!

as far as my head problem, imo theres no way that water/coolent could make this happen, and unless the heat from it passing through the turbo has caused it? but ive ran this oil for a year now

and i carnt say enough that its not a sludge, its green halfords jelly.

Halfords Classic is made by Comma - same as the Comma Classic stuff.

Make sure you pop the oil gallery plugs out and clean everything out if you haven't already.

Not being funny mate, but several people, not just myself have told you to pull it appart.

What makes you think that this slugde will not be in the oil galleries? its in your oil filter!!

I reckon yout bearings are toast.

If you have not pulled it appart, and just simply cleaned out the sump, You're on your own I'm afraid. Last I'm saying on this topic *happy*

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

you could try and it helps to use 50/50 cheap O oil and parafin 3 fluses and then one oil flush and a few filters inbetween the the goo oil and new filter

give it 50 miles and out again new filter and use 20/50 sonic oil in the yellow can cheap but excellent oil and has good levels of ZDDP in there

right well i changed the oil a week ago (but not the filter) after my head cracked and i was burning coolent. the oil wasent that contaminated that came out.

thats your problem, you should have changed the oil filter, and run a flushing agent through it aswell.

i highly doubt it was the halfords engine oil, halfords oil is made by comma, and comma is one of the worlds leading and largest oil refining companies, (they are so because they manufacture oil for the likes of wilkinson, tesco, halfords etc etc etc)

i agree with others though that i wouldnt put cheap oil anywhere near a high performance engine, oter than purely running in,

Australia oi oi oi!

i would not run the new oil for long. and put a new oil filter and oil in again..

you might pop the sludge and crap out and it could be swurling around..

drain change & drain again..

might be lucky and sort it out.
