What you could do as well is get a family member to buy something dirt cheap from the website and see if it arrives, ifmthe transaction goes through like normal then he is stillmtrading and you will have evidence

If he is currently insolvent, which means he is in administration he will still be trading. Administration gives him the opportunity to sort his finances without anybody being able to sue him. The administrators take over control of the company to sort it out, if they cannot sort the finances they will close it down which means his creditors will get paid and customers come last

I seriously doubt it!

A bit of an aside. But I cannot understand why people pay so much up front.
Of course on a big build like an engine I would expect stage payments to cover big expenditure by the builder, such as buying in say forged pistons.
But the bulk of the payment for the work, comes when the finished item is received in my eyes.
Certainly if I was to build an engine for someone, this is how I would expect to be paid.

I couldn't agree more tom you should just buy the majority of parts. Before hand & take them all along to your chosen builder for assembly so you shouldn't have to give them any money up front. You her the same with building contractors I run a joinery buissness & never take a penny up front payment on completion & satisfaction is the way I run *smiley*

Hello. On the mini forum, i posted a thread saying that MRA are now in liquidatio, and there have been over 2000 views and 77 or more responses.

Yesterday evening, I recieved a text message, the conversation starting at 9:47pm. It was sent from a number I don't recognise.

Below is exactly word for word:

Message 1 (from sender): "Thanks John"

Message 2 (From me): "Who's this?"

Message 3 (from sender): "Well what used to be anyway"

Message 4 (from sender): "MRA"

Message 5 (from sender): "I filled the tank back up before I parked up in your yard and the gates are now locked"

Looking at message three, does it sound like some kind of threat? I jjst thought i would post this in case anything happens to me.

Post the phone number!

Note that's probably not what you should do.

I assume you have a yard with some kind of fuel / water tank in it? if so I'd be tempted to report it as a threat.

Reading through both threads, i understand he has a lot of happy customers, but do NOT take money from people, where you can only provide a sub standard service, or cannot repay the money owed.
It sounds to me that MRA should have stopped trading a long time ago, also texting people things like that really aren't helping his case. It may only take a few unhappy customers to bring a company down, but he should not have given those customers any reason to be. John, i fully understand of why you posted that topic on tmf, to stop uninformed people from losing money, but some individuals think the sun shines from mra's arse and attempt to shoot you down on the matter. Unfortunately it is your word against theirs, and i also perfectly understand Ricks actions on the phone, if doing things in the appropriate manner didn't solve anything, i think I'd be a tad pissed off too. Good luck with getting things sorted lads.

I don't see this thread going anywhere constructive, so I am going to lock it.

To those who are owed or feel they are owed something by MRA, good luck in getting a result.

MRA obviously have a loyal band of followers elsewhere in the Mini scene, sadly on TM following the dizzy bung saga, he won't find much support here.
