its his dayjob, what do you expect really?

no his day job is living in america building big/small block drag engines i think.

all im getting at is after its all sold out and he has done this he will vanish maybe re surface when he is planning something else. if he has a honest interest you'd thought that you would have seen him about making the odd comment before as there are some very intilectual convos that happen on here but unless its filling it with paper doesnt seem interested.

even some of his comments on tmf seem a bit lacking thought and politeness; just business business.

there are guys on here that can run a company and yet still be polite and respond to the community because they are keen to be part of the scene.....so to speak.

ignore me and get back on topic its just a pet hate of mine, not saying he hasnt done great for minis in the past just bugs oh looks hes popped up randomly and i wonder why :)

I think that he is turning his attention back to the Mini scene as he can see that there is money to be made. He must be close to retirement, so this is probably just a bit of amusement for him.

As far as the Swansea tests of the Miglia engine are concerned, it will be interesting to see how much of the data is made public, how he interprets it and how he develops a solution.

My guess is that there will be another couple of APTFast cam profiles for sale.

Really. Many people posting here seem to think he should be here just to answer all their queries for free.

I would assume he's a busy man, and one with a very high level of knowledge.

Why would anyone expect someone in that position just to hand out info for free, when he's spent a lifetime researching and testing to discover it ?

As one said, that's his job, his career. He then puts most of that information into books for everyone to learn from.

Can anyone who has bought the yellow book honestly say it was a waste of money ?
I certainly cant, it's one of the most useful tuning books I've bought.

Because of the internet, many people forget books still exist. And are often a far better resource than you'll ever find on the internet.

We can all read the monthly mini mags' articles about a dyno test to find out what the best carb is on a n/a 1275 etc only to read at the end, "sorry had no time to test the weber" Useless!
Vizards articles always had a proper conclusion.
Respect to David Vizard. I've got lots of articles and books by Vizard and I've read nothing else that comes close.

Well, I just had a long telephone conversation with DV. He certainly seems fully clued up and up to date. Very interesting discussion :)

I do feel that I need to be clear that I have said nothing against DV knowledge and how relavent it is. Just that his story was pub talk, and we're all guilty of it; I know I am.

Have you blagged free front row tickets than Paul?

I must say that I was dissapointed that he did not remember the conversation I had with him at the Pod in 1975 :( I was a Goodie in those days.
