Using the standard rear seat mounts at the base of the rear seat area puts the mounting points a bit low really. They are still within the required angle but in my opinion they are just a bit too low which was why I originally came up with the harness bar that sits at the top of the wheel arch getting the harness at a much better angle. Bolting some eyebolts through the rear parcel shelf, even with spreader plates isnt really ideal as the area was never meant to take that loading.

I like your thinking Matt. My two thoughts are:

1) run it as close to the parcle shelf as possible and just behind where the seat fits. It needs no more space than the 2mm thickness of the webbing.

2) use a smaller tube. That looks like standard roll cage CDS, I reckon you could go a lot smaller.

Sorry about the wank comment, but it is not asthetically pleasing as it is, but you know that.

Not a problem mate, never been bothered about critisism in whatever form it comes as it normally leads to better ideas :) I use 32mm CDS which is about as small as I would go really and is a bit smaller than regular cage tube. Does sit lower and further back now, will get a new picture posted as soon as I have one made up
