The only way they will make more money is if people use more fuel, not just change the buying schedule.

anyone else think of this as a way for fuel companies to make more money? I mean really, will they actaully go on strike? Just wish if they do go on strike they make it last a fair few weeks in an attempt to bring fuel prices down :/

Not really, as people will just wait a bit longer to fill up again now that all their tanks are full, so no extra money has been made.

Just been out at dinnertime, passed a couple of fuel stations not really any busier than normal. I have decided to do my bit to help by not filling up the Shogun, (it has 1/2 a tank) and I've also set myself a 3000rpm rev limit so the 1/2 tank will go a bit further.

I filled up easily in Kent, and then got back into Aylesbury and there were about 10 cars back up onto the road queuing for petrol, this was about 3 O clock this afternoon so probably filling up for the school run, even though it the holidays next week...crazy!

I went to Redhill today in Surrey and the three stations that I went to, beacuse I had 35 miles of fuel showing in the tank, had run out...

I had to drive at 60mph on the M25 to fucking Bracknal to get fuel at Sainsburys. And even then I had to wait 40 minutes.

The country has gone mad. There isn't even a plan to stick yet, WTF is everyone doing????

What narcs me is its mainly people who drive 20 miles a week that are filling their tanks for the first time ever, only for the fuel to sit in the tank for the next month.

I travel nationwide for work and get through a tank every 2 days or so, I cant afford to cancel jobs because I cannot get to site. Grrr

A Full tank makes the cars heavier therefore less efficient so they use more fuel to run. Get the whole country running round using more fuel than usual cha ching pay off the tax bills *happy*

Pasty shortage... Now that would be a disaster!

The sad fact is, and it pains me to say so, but this country has far too many small minded idiots in it, only bothered about their little bit of petrol. Not to mention the utter buffoons we currently call "government".
But yet again the British public will lie back and take it, just look at the French, they would have crippled the road network and had the prime ministers head on a pole by now.

My local staions are closed, i did see a guy in a prius filling up 5 jerry cans, which is kinda ironic,

oh and seeing as every fucker here is rich, they put it up to £1.52.9!!!!

Personally, i think Tax on fuel should go on, how much you use, and engine size, and emissions etc,
why should we pay then same as the guy who has the 4.6 Hse Supercharged range rover, to drop the kids off, doing 16MPG??
maybe its a daft idea....best go wash up some Red......*wink*

but tax on fuel isn't car related, its just a tax gained for the general kitty. so in fact there should be no fuel duty as the drivers are subsidising an income for everyone, and just a general increase in income tax for everyone.

one day boost will be mine!

Don't want to state the obvious, but.... If he's doing 16mpg and you are doing 32mpg, then he's paying twice as much Tax as you as he's using twice as much fuel!
