If you google "carbon weezel" there are many hits where he is peddaling his wares. As TM is #7 on the list with this very topic on TM, perhaps the title should be changed to "carbon weezel scam" or some such topic...

18 months? WTF

btw - looks like he's starting to annoy the boating crowd too:

This topic is now second hit on Google.

In My Opinion, a company that is too busy taking money from people for product they are too busy to produce, then not communicate with those customers to explain or even issue a refund, is a comany that needs this type of exposure, so those considering handing over their hard earned can make at the very least some sort of educated decission. Then, if they have seen and read this, they can make their own mind up on how risky the transaction could be.

As has already been said earlier, mistakes happen, problems arise, and products have flaws, noone is disputing that, but it's how the company responds to and resolves these situations as to whether or not topics like these crop up.

I'm sure there are more happy customers than unhappy ones, but that does not mean the unhappy customers voiced complaints should be silenced and pushed aside. After all the company is not listening.

There will always be one who is unhappy even with every perfectly adequate and functional product, nothing you can do about those (usually easy to spot and dismiss as they are just plain unreasonable), but the fact remains on more than one occassion, money is taken, no product turns up and no response received to any efforts by the customer to contact them.

The same bell rings with the same tone on more than one occassion, enough evidence to be overly causious about buying anything from Carbon Weezel.

No one person is out to defame anyone. A quick google shows there are plenty happy customers, but google also found these.

The worst part i have is the weezel boot floor which was three months late!

gave them a deposit, 50% on a two peice race front end and A pillars, lots of money. deadline kept getting pushed back from summer, to late Aug then to definetly done by Christmas.... last few emails went un answered

i ordered a boot floor i had a estimated time of 8 weeks ( i think but not 100% now) and it ended up taking 6 months or so to be received, countless emails i had to send before they replied, then i was told of countless problems they faced that delayed the order

Its like other examples. No one disputes the quality of the end product, its more about goods or services that are paid for and just do not turn up or happen when they were suposed to, if they ever turn up at all.

All my opinion (excluding any quotes, which are freely available with a quick google), and as such, only an opinion. Make your own mind up.

^^^ Sprox speaks the truth ^^^

I think it is very simple.
Research what action folks took against Morspeed, and learn from their experiences, because (in spite of denials to compare to Morspeed) this doesn't really sound any different. Correction: It does "sound" different because it seems that Morspeed would at least talk to you and give you excuses, the tools in this company just go for the silent treatment.

I am a little confused about their operation however - who exactly is the owner? Nick or Ben?

I am surprised no one has taken Carbon Weezel to court yet, I am sure it will not be long judging from the experiences quoted in this posting.

We removed the phone number from the site as we are both laminating all day, and Im sure you are all aware that if you are laminating, you cant just stop to answer the phone.

I bought this brilliant new gadget the other day, I think it's called an 'answer machine', something like that anyway. What you can apparently do is leave a message on it, something like 'Hello, carbon weasel are busy making parts right now, please leave your name and number and we'll get back to you, alternatively email us at.............'

Removing your phone number gives the impression that you don't want to be contacted, whatever your reasons.

I would take advice from this thread and be a bit more appologetic. Here is a list of companies that took on too much work, didn't meet deadlines and then ignored their customers:

Morspeed
Smart Performance
Smudger (traded GRP stuff on mini forums)
MRA Minis

There are others, but all ended the same way.

I wrote a whole page, and decided to delete it.

If that is the only response you can come up with, not worth the bother IMO

What about......"Sorry, we fucked up, we are human after all. We are looking at how we deal with these issues so that we will never be in this position in the future. The customer experience will improve. We would like the customer to come back for more. We would like customer to tell their friends how good their buying experience was with Carbon Weezel, so they will look to us for their needs.

Just an observation, and again, my opinion. tell me to fuck off if you wish and i'll say no more, but think about that before you do.

That's the sort of response I'd expert from a large corporation that doesn't give a shit, bit like the one I work for. A bit meaningless and the sort of thing the person reads out from a prompt or you get in an auto generated letter.

At least you got a response. The only way that ^ works is if the company actually do something about it. I'd tend to agree with you with large corporations. so yeh, maybe a bad example.

For a company with such a small customer base, to treat just 4 customers (2%) in this way will only reduce their customer base further, since those 4 customers will tell, ooh say, 10 of their friends. Of those ten freinds, they each tell 10 of their friends, and it is easy to see how damaging even just 4 customer complaints can be, and why dealing with complaints promptly, and not 6 months down the line, is important. Fix that and the whole problem goes away. simples.

Agree about customer service and complaints etc, but...

From what I can see the people who were originally complaining have all stopped posting, bar one who is posting on behalf of somebody else. So we don't directly have both sides of the story.

I'm sure some of the things that finished morspeed etc of is people sticking their noses in and blowing things out of proportion (I'm not defending him).

Give him a fair chance to sort things out directly with those affected before the witch hunt starts. How would you like it if you where in Ben's position? I doubt you would be pleased to be on the receiving end of this.

I'm not defending Ben or what may or may not have happened, I just think it's nothing to do with any of us. Let the interested parties sort it out between themselves.

I think most people will be able to draw their own conclusions from this thread. Certainly if Carbon Weezel were in touch with their customers as they claim to have been, then I don't think this thread would even exist, draw whatever conclusions you like from that.
