My advice to all my neighbours who have spoken to me about my cat is to use the hose. He's an animal that I have little control over and it would be inhumane to keep him in the house, if he's in someone elses garden I'm afraid it's their problem not mine.

Having said that I can understand wanting to have that stop. So if it's a cat, you should try to find out who the cat owners are and punish them by sending them a nice package with the shit inside. That may help them find a way to prevent this from happening. . Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

I'd just like to add, I'm not going to hurt any cats etc, I'm all for scaring/shushing them away but I don't agree with popping them with an air rifle, those who have suggested harm I'm sure air just flippant joking remarks. Just covering my back, you never know these days.

a nice bit of chicken soaked in anti freeze WILL work if you can get the fooker to eat it ! works with foxes also Having had a cat succumb to anti-freeze poisoning, all I can say is that I hope your car gets stolen and you catch a virilent testicular disease. Firstly, I am not condoning violence against cats, we get their shit on the drive but such is life, there are worse problems out there! Surely the logic of "not my problem" is blinkered, as if someone did attempt to solve the problem using something other than a hose, then this will very much affect you and so to avoid this would be advisable? Having said that, it is not controllable apart from caging it which is wrong, I just don't agree with your philosophy. I have often wondered why you are not meant to leave dog shit on the floor, but cats is fine? I imagine it's linked to the freedom given and the feral nature of cats etc but it always struck me as odd to penalise one common pet against another. *I also completely agree with Andy below, it's always when your on a off road cycle path that someone has taken the horse down and left a huge pile in the middle!* Edited by Amp on 4th Jan, 2013. |

On that note, why are horse riders nite obliged to clean up their animals mess in public? It's far worse than anything my dog can make. Edited by apbellamy on 4th Jan, 2013. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

Having said that, it is not controllable apart from caging it which is wrong, I just don't agree with your philosophy. [quote] I'm not sure my view is blinkered, it's just reality. What would the neighbour really expect me to do? I have in the past offered to buy and fit a neighbours house with a magnetic cat flap that only their cat can get in and not mine. But I know the reality is that my cat will bust through even a locked cat flap. Again, if asked I'd happily pay for tiger poo. But I personally would not go to my neighbours house to complain about their cat, I would deal with it myself as they are really helpless to help. As it happpens my cat has been poisoned a few times, and maybe it was my neighbours, but it's their concience not mine and I don't get wound up by this kind of thing for the sake of neighbourhood harmony. Finally, it sounds like my cat is a twat, and I guess he is, but he was born that way, not traind to be a twat by me. Before I had him he'd be re-homed 4 times as people couldn't deal with him. I don't know why my post before the other one was deleted or by whom but the point was that rubbing a cat's face in its shit is not a proper treatment for a cat. It doesn't matter what the owner intention is or how the cat is otherwise treated. And you don't have to believe me; just ask a professional.

I had a house that had a small lawn at the front (8'x8' if that), and the house was on a corner. Every passing cat would shit on the lawn and the borders, and I know this because I would catch them at it. Some cats shit on open grass, some like freshly tilled soil, some prefer to squat in flower pots, some probably like to read the paper, but to say all cats do not shit on open lawns is wrong.

My only concern is for the cat(s) involved. And if you care about your cat(s), you should also care about this fact. I deleted it cos you talk shit pal. Cats eat eachothers shit and lick their arses, a little bit of their own shit on the end of their nose does not hurt them anymore than squirting water at them. I read in a book that rubbing their nose in it was a good solution used by many for years I seriously doubt it! |

How could it hurt him? And you may well have seen this in a book but people also used to beat their kids with a stick. Would you still do this? So my last paragraph above still applies. |

Look, agree to disagree. My cats were very well looked after, it only happened once to one of them, it didnt harm it in any way shape or form - if you dont like it I do not care. Your last paragraph applies - but so does mine.
I seriously doubt it! |
