I've had another look today.

There's no easy way of producing an exterior handle completely in carbon.

The only way it looks to be viable, is to cut a handle up to leave the lock/button end in tact, and graft that as a insert into a new full length carbon handle? But then I'm not sure how much weight would be saved, and I have the feeling the only reason for doing it would be to say 'genuine carbon fibre handles' on a build spec!!!

Ok, I've convinced myself it's doable.

Will be making 998 and 1275 rad bracket, and the gear stick 'cup'. As and when someone lends me stuff to copy.

Handles will be a new year project. I have a plan.

Wouldn't handles be better made from holey billet alloy

Possibly, yes.

I'll give it a go, fill as much with rohacell as possible, and see what we're left with.

There's probably a good reason no one makes them!!

Fiberglass door handles have been done before!

This guy seems to have gone off the radar, shame really because I really wanted some handles and alloy stalks, his work is absolutely spot on:

Couple more ideas: fuel tank strap, replacement rear bins, washer bottle bracket

Strap and bracket are easy ones, bins are probably too big, especially as I need none of the stuff already suggested.

My plan is going slightly astray into "stuff I find interesting"!

Rear view mirror would be nice!

Good man on the handles, if you can make them I'm sure you'll sell quite a few.

I had thought about the door handles quite some time ago. I was going to make a latex mould, and cast the handles with resin and chopped strand carbon fibre. But I think I was day dreaming at the time

I got distracted today and ended up making a mould for a throttle pedal. Will be cannibalising an original to make it, but should save some weight.

True, but I know quite a lot of people use or want to use period tax discs then.

Have we any idea when it'll actually be going?
