They will work with the high flow type matty manifold too won't they? Looking forward to pics *happy*

Now that's a good question. Lol

I'd need some measurements of where the turbo output sits to compare the two. As I no longer have a high flow type to compare. I know here is not much in it though.

No problem. I have manifolds currently available, and will post up in this threads with pics of the downpipe when it's complete and available.

My high flow manifold is on a mockup head at the moment with a gt17 sat on it. I can send pictures and or measurements if you like? Or even better, I can send the manifold back to you to have a play around with, as long as you do me a good deal on a downpipe hint hint *wink* lol.

Haha. I've got a downpipe to fit in now in 57mm pipe. When I get the engine out, I'll get some measurements and if you can do the same we'll compare. If they are massively different (which I don't think they will be) then sending your manifold might be best.

Hi Matty, dont suppose you will have the first sets of down pipes available by April ?

Seems to be a very good interest in both the manifolds and downpipes.

Still not 100% certain on price, as I'm still waiting for a quote on the flanges, but looking to be around £150. I spoke to my supplier today though' so should know soon for sure. I also spoke to my pipe supplier, and i am now looking at having the downpipe made out of a single piece with multiple bends. It'll take a little longer to get to the stage of having one complete, but the end product will be a much neater solution. I'm trying to avoid having multiple bends welded together, instead having one continuous pipe that looks more factory looking.

Has anyone got an engine in a car with one of my manifolds on, so when I get the first downpipe made, they can trial fit it straight away? My mock up fits mine, but then I'm trying to take into account that if people have more or less engine tilt, will it still fit!

I haven't had as much time I'd hoped over the last few weeks, as work has gone crazy with getting cars ready for a goodwood meeting. But by spending more time getting the design right, it means it'll be a better fit on other people's cars.

Mine is matty. Engines in, turbos on etc. it's mounted on one of your normal manifolds not the hi flow.

How much further back does the engine sit in the twin bolt subframe then?

It's not the twin bolt subframes. When they changed to HIF carbs in the early 90s, they moved the engine about 10mm forward.

Righty I think I've got the final design sorted. *happy* I did some more tweaking today and I am now happy with clearances and fitment. Just a couple of pics to see if anyone can see any issues with it. What are people's thoughts on the tunnel position? Without going further across toward the gear selector it's about as high as I can get it?

Please keep in mind It's is only a rough mockup that has been tacked together for positioning and not the finished article. and I am using my old clamp until the new ones arrive (should be tomorrow) the new clamps are 8mm thick instead of 5/6mm which mine is. The downpipe should hopefully be all one piece if my supplier can form the bends that close together.

This downpipe is about as large as you can or really need to go to get good power as its made out of 57mm OD stainless, and should fit nicely over a 2" centre section.

Now that's a service!

Can't believe how much room there is down the back of yours, with the log manifold.
