I've always said you can't use 200 bhp in an a-series on the road, A torque steer will put you in a ditch and you will just break gearbox components. If i go for a thrash round the country lanes i turn it down to 12 psi, dragracing and short stince up the boost! Matt, where do you get your nitrous from these days? You big girls blouse Mine frequently used to get used in 216.9 banana mode on the road I personally didnt think it was a monster at all, infact I found in quite entertaining Jim get your car taxed and take it out and get used to it |

Thats the differece with my being a fatty, 200 bhp for me on the road doesn't really fell that great, it's only untill i wind things up to 250 or more when the ride get going, but if your light, then 200 yes will be to much lol. Now problems start with taction in the dry summer weather when around 280 plus in 4th at any speed there is a good ride. (not done that one much though i would admit. Best 1/4 mile 13.2 seconds @116 mph

John Whitmore was getting to grips with the new slipper clutch in his rear-engined 1293cc Leyland rail. He ran 9.84, 9.94 and 9.88 to re-set the Middle Dragster strip record to 9.84/131.58.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

In Middle Dragster John Whitmores Leyland powered Drag N Fly set a new class record with an 8.63/146.
That was with the front engined car. I know coz I was there! I don't think the the rear engined rail was as fast. It had too much grip and used to bog down off the line. The old car used to spin those old dunlops for about 100 yards, keeping the revs up. Saul Bellow - "A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep."
