That's what I thought, but Rog seems to think it's ok, something to do with the damper rising rate, I think.

As an aside the bolts for the Spax shock are bigger than the AVO ones.

Chris the dash is a "Switch Pod Dash" and is made by Ian Curley ( www.curleygrp.com ) but I brought it from ABS ( www.absmotorsport.net ) note my dash is seconds, hence the imperfections.

Not much progress recently as my back has been giving me gyp recently, but I finally got round to making my new brace bars today (my original ones fouled on the coilover brackets).

It turns out that your correct and the shocks foul at full travel, rather than posting the same thing twice I've put the pics of the shock mounts in this thread:

Who was the tank made by? I have found something similar on ebay that may suit my application just nicely! Forgot to mention this is starting to come together looking very good. What are the plans for the engine?

The tank is made bu allard motorsport who, are just round the corner from where I'm building the car, however they also sell a lot of stuff on ebay. I've got to say there welding is some of if not the nicest I've ever seen.

this is coming together really really well, have you had any thoughts toward the engine spec yet? turbo/cam/head choice?

Nothing too exciting with the engine to start with; MG metty cam, worked 12G295 head (I don't like the idea of pocketing a block with forced induction) GT17 turbo, Omex management (the rollers I use deal with Omex a lot, so I reckon it's best to go with an ECU that they are confident with) I'm not sure what pistons yet (there's a lot of talk about 998 pistons that I'm struggle to wade through) and the usual trimmings; Metty Turbo carb & manifolds, duplex timing, alloy front plate, Cossy intercooler, etc, etc.

Sounds very similar to what I have planned, but Im sticking with carb and the std metty T3 for cheapness :)

I fitted my mock up engine to day so I could start making more blooming brackets.

It's a tight squeeze but it fits.

Looks good, like mine should if I had the time and money.

Is this a pure out and out hill climber? If so do you really need an alterhator? I can see it is a smaller one, but we duel drive the TT without one no problem on a small red dot battery.

Ben,

The plan is that it will eventually be an out & out hill climber, but to start with I want to be able to due a few track days in it just to get used to driving it & used to driving on the track, so I'm adding a few extra bits like the alternator & a bigger fuel tank to give me a bit more flexibility to start with.

A few more photos and a bit of progress but not a lot as 2008 is shaping up to be like 2007 where I spent about 150 - 200 days in Bristol where I allegedly live & work.

Here's a quick shot of the one wheeled wonder, big thanks to Mr Austin for the tyres. Luckily there's no tread showing outside of the arches so I shouldn't need arch extensions for the MoT.

A random shot of one of Carl's engine steadies and one of Jason's heat shields, note how I've connected the Dump Valve to the clutch pedal so that it will make a nice pissssssh when I change gear.

I was having a few issues with the front bonnet pins leaning inwards slightly so I made up a brace to hold them. I think I might have an unhealthy obsession with spherical joints the amount I'm getting through on this car.

This has had the added benefit of allowing me to cut out most of the front end allowing good airflow around the IC, just need to address the airflow to the rad.

It's an ABS front end, personally if I was to do it again I'd keep the steel A panels as I'm still fettling the front to get it to fit how I want. As an aside ABS do a TM discount.

Done some more last minute fabrication before I bugger off, why is that as soon as I can work on the car I get masses of motivation?

Intercooler is in and I'm halfway there with the pipes, can't do much more on the intercooler pipes as my exhaust manifold has gone of to be flowed & match to my head.

close up of one of the intercooler brackets yet more spherical joints, I must be McGill Motorsport's biggest customer at the moment.

And the other side, the plan is to replace my home made steadies with some of Carls.

Would be neater and help reduce the number of tight bends, but I can't really justify it as I intend to go for a K100 in the future.
