Well a little time was taken off, from welding and cutting, and the bottom arm bushes were replaced.

As you can see, they were a mess. Both sides were done.

Then back to the cutting and welding.

All that mess was cleaned up.

The strengthener was welded in, and the pocket welded to the floor.

An extra plate was welded over the rear of the sill.

brace bar was removed.

Rear lower quater plate tack in.

But had a little trouble with the welder. So stopped for today, before i had a hissy fit lol.

Oh, and a plate was made and welded back in place to fill this area. (All surface rust removed)

Cheers Ap!

Well its all finished. The inside and outside have just been seem sealed. Once thats dry, i'll paint it.

The doorsteep and rear lower quater have just had their welds ground down, and primered over the top, as i cant filler to save my life.

Oh and the rear quater warped whilst putting in that panel....joyus.

Got to sort out the blowing exhaust manifold, and the handbrake, fit the interior back in. Then its read for an mot....

After I'll have to save up for a body shop, to filler, and paint the estate for me..... unless anyone here wants to do it? *happy*

Some snaps for everyone.

Had to pop out early this morning for supplies.

Lower quater repair welded in, ground back and primered.

Inside seam sealed and painted in white stone chip.

Sills (both sides) painted in white stone chip.

As the exhaust was blowing and that had to be sorted out, i took some pictures of under the bonnet. This how it came, it is surprisingly quite tidy.

The marigold i put on when before i went to blaise castle, as it wazzed it down, it worked a treat!

The interior back in, got to love the brown!

And as it stands at the moment, ready for the MOT.

Oli.

Top job.

Really good to see solid metal in there again. Not too much rear panel warp by the look of it. Good result.

Congrats on it passing first time - always a big relief !

See you next Sat.

Richard.

Minivanless, but reluctantly happy living with the decision. There'll be another one day.

Good work, at least its solid now, and an mot with no advisories is always nice.

I got mine mot'd the other day and one of the advisories stated "the cars been completely revamped for rally use *Rofl!*

On friday, i took the estate out for a spin, and i noticed when i pulled up, some water on the floor, which i assumed had come out the over flow, as i had just topped it up.

But after further investigation the water pump was leaking, and the bypass hose had a rather large split in it.

So... this is how it stands today.

Water pump looks fairly new be fair, but will be replaced none the less.

So before combe, i need to buzz over to somerford minis, get a water pump, gasket and bypass hose.... bloody niggly jobs!

Quick update:

Got the the parts from somerford minis, (got myself a decent key fob aswell)

Whilst the pulley was off, i cleaned it up and gave it a lick of paint, did a little cleaning here and there to tart it up.

No pictures of it finished, but its not all that exciting.

Oh, and my seat frames are off at a fabricators, so they fit the mini properly... small chance of them being fitted by combe, but not likely lol.

Cheers Dan, your comments are really appreciated.

Cheers Rob, no worries, whenever you have a free moment.

I'll be at Castle Combe tomorrow, so if you see the estate (minus the roof rack), come and have a chat! Would be good to meet a few more of you!

Well its been a while since i last up dated.

Passenger seat is now in properly. Ran out gas, so cant do the drivers side yet, typical lol.

There was a slight miss hap with the fabricator, so i ended up making my own rear brackets.

My dash has been fitted (need to get a head unit) and some other parts were purchased to smarten the outside up a little.

Now im earning some more money. Im hoping to get it sprayed towards the end of november, then its engine time!

I'll let the snaps do the talking.

Good work Oli.

Can you recline the Recaro's once they're installed on the runners - or are they slide only.

I couldn't recline the Metty seats in my 1380 estate - it wasn't really a problem as the rear seat base lifts up to get to the battery but it was a real pain in the arse on the van.

You got any plans for the dash or are you gonna try another finish ?

Oh, if you want me to go back over the fitting of that lovely sill finishing strip, just drop me a call. You'll need a few beers, a straight edge, boiling water, a few dumpy 1/8 in stainless rivets, more beer, a hair dryer, at least a day, plus lots of patience !

Just go easy on yer Dad if he's 'helping' - you know what I mean !

Richard.

Minivanless, but reluctantly happy living with the decision. There'll be another one day.

Cheers chaps! Much appreciated.

The seats only slide forward which is a little annoying, but if you slide them all the way forward, and lean the backs forward theres enough room to get in and out if needs must.

They're blooming comfortable! Just got to wait for the paint to dry on the drivers side frame and i can fit that one!

Im hopefully getting the rear seat upholstered to match soon.

Hmmm dash, it looks ok, i have been thinking about getting it flocked or painted, but im not sure, may even keep my eye out for a cooper 500 dash.

The sill stips are stretched out in the spare room at the moment to try and get them as straight as possible. The the hot water will come out lol.

But i will give you ring if i get into difficulty, (as i dont want to bugger it up).

Lol, yeah i've been going easy on the old fella, especially as he's the one that thought of the revised seat mounts to get me out of my sticky situation lol!

Cheers Chaps!
