Mine turned up yesterday and I have been busy assembling it, then had to go out.

Anyway, I'll throw up some pics showing how the AP clutch looks.

Anyone want a steel ring for the Valeo clutch?

Thanks Joe:)

Got mine yesterday too. I think I understand how it all goes together, but have I missed a how to thread?

There's not a how to thread, but I can walk you through it and pass on home hints.

First thing is to get two verto's and pull them apart, and tap the holes M8.

then measure the rings and springs.

Now you have said tap M8 it all becomes clear. The ring the spacers everything.

Rather annoingly at home I had two vertos, one Valeo and one later one, doh!.

I have another Valeo on it's way.

lol,

It is fairly easy, once you figure what's happening.

there are 6x 15mm socket heads to hold the pressure plate to the flywheel and 9x 20mm socket heads to hold the springs to the pressure plate.

the main thing is to measure the 2x pivot rings (stainless ring things), the springs and add it all together to get the length that the spacers need to be,

for shortening the spacers I found an m8 counterbore works really well,

assembling the whole lot can be a fiddle, I found putting thr bolts through the big support ring, then sitting that upside down on something flat and then adding the spacers, ring, springs, other ring, then sitting the fluwheeel on top, the flipping the whole lot over and tightening it up worked for me.

I'm in a position to use my bits now but I have an AP clutch. Will I need to use washers in place of the ring?

Best way to get the AP ring off is to first drill the heads off the rivets from the topside. I damaged two trying to get the rivets and spacers off the ring after drilling the rivets out from the bottom side. The rivets expand into the spacers making it a bit of a mare

I'm in the middle of finishing mine, i'll throw a piccie up later

Incidently, I am now going to use a brown and light blue spring-late 1275 and turbo.

as Sprocket says drill the heads off,

what i found works well is to centre punch the heads then pilot drill with about a 3mm drill around 10-15mm deep, then with an 8-8.5mm drill dril each head till it pops off, you'll them be able to separate all the bits, then using a 6mm drill drill through the rest of the rivets deep enough that you can twat the remaining of it off and then punch the last little bit of the rivet out the back,

it takes me about 20-30 mins to pull one apart.

Piccies of an AP set up. No idea if its going to be too much *oh well*

The pressure plate does need refacing. Going check run out all round and to see if it will balance without the flywheel.

I might also try and see about measuring the throw out force when its built up and compare it with the orange pre verto, which will require a little math too.
