The first turbo motor that I built had a mg cam and 1.5:1 rockers, I ran turbo pistons machined with a bigger dish and a de beaked head. Im sure it was around 8.5:1. On 15psi it was a flyer and my favourite engine that I have built to drive on the road! Im sure it ran a low 14 up the strip as well!

Jeeez Ron !

If the build goes that well, I'll sell em as kits ! That's impressive.

Just sourcing and waiting for parts to rebuild but Oli's MG cam has arrived (cheers Oli) and Adams 10cc Omegas should be en-route.

Goin over Somerfords in the morning for the rest of the parts and have a verto RTS conversion and new plate to fit as well. Hopefully that'll delay the onset of clutchslip when it's hot, not that it did it much before, just on the RR.

Will update hopefully with build news when I'm back from holiday.

Rich.

Andy's right on this one. I'm gonna need one new piston anyway and then I'm gonna have to take all pistons off the rods on the other three to machine the bowls out at least another 2 cc to match the new 10cc No 4 piston so I might as well put new 10 cc pistons back on in all 4 positions as I cant be arsed with the hasle tbh !

Bowden can machine them with the rods attached, you might want to pop over there one lunch time & have a chat.

Cheers Rob.

Not heard of Bowdens or used them before, have you got more details about where they are Rob ?

It's more than likely I'm gonna do a dry build to ascertain exactly what more needs to come out the bowls and then give them a call.

I have all the parts now, except the pistons.

Cheers mate *smiley*

They're over by Patchway train station, I've used them a fair bit over the years.

yeah ive had a few jobs done by them and they are gonna do a lot of my k head block machining, very good guys. If you come down the A38 towards filton and come off just after the toyota and esso garage there is a road just after and they are down there on the corner.

Has been a while but I'll update in a few hours with the new spec and photos, hopefully with some good news, fingers crossed.

I`m sure all will be fine. Would be good to see the van in all its glory next time I`m passing through that way.

Thank fcuk for that.

Well, it's off to a good start and after a few cranks with the plugs out to get oil pressure it fired up straight away as soon as the pump started pushin fuel to the carb.

It was 11.30pm so I only managed to get a couple of minutes of idle out of her but suffice to say I'm happier now.

But jeez, it's firkin cold in the garage - the thermometer was reading -2 deg C inside !

Tomorrow, I'll have her running up to temp, bleed the air out of the cooling system and make sure the lower static CR (now 8.15:1 instead of 9.45:1) hasn't altered the idle mixture too much.

Then bleed the brakes, replace the bonnet and give the front suspension components a lick of paint before MoT on Tuesday.

Will post up some photos another evening. Am fanglin out how to work my pesky new Iphone4.

Cheers for now.

Richard.
