Just to defend Colin, he's not saying that the laws don't apply, more that how do you apply the laws.

Every one of our calculations contains assumptions and fudge factors to get reasonable looking numbers and this in essence will create inaccuracies.

This still does NOT take away the fact that an NA engine will not run at 140% VE, you'd need a massive fudge to prove this. The rolling road results are skewed, we know this, and we know it's rpm related, we also know that a more reasonable figure for VE can be obtained by fudging the rpm in the calculations.

So lets stop it now. No-one on this forum will claim that the RR results we achieved are accurate, generally on here we don't. The BHP is potentially in the right ball park, but the rpm is not.

As I said earlier, if I told anyone the torque results I achieved on my engines, the next two words would be fuck off.

What Fab has pointed out to me is that an engine in a guys car I know (with 16v) is very unlikely to make the 180 bhp he claims at 8500 rpm. as that's 130%VE. more like 150bhp, and that would satisfy the terminals I've seen.

3456 is the conversion factor from feet cube to inches cube (1728)multiplied by 2 to integrate 4 stroke aspiration conversion factor ( aspirating his capacity only half time his reving)
