That block is a bargain at £20!

Why don't you get it welded up? Then tidy the weld up with a die grinder/bearing scraper. Its only skirt clearance at that point anyway. *oh well*

We have castings welded up all the time at work.

Gutted as you maybe. I know i would be, id still cut my losses and go with a new sutible block. Its less worry. If you get this one welded up that niggling thought will always be with you. (Will it work)?

When I did this mod I put some water in the water system so that as soon as it was deep enough, water came out the hole.
