Some very good points.

I love looking through build threads for ideas and motivation.
Im allways on here daily but just don't post as much as I used to. I read through threads and most of the questions or answers have already been answered.

I think a consideration is just age , everyone says the early Avon's were the best or the first mitp's were better, but so was everything else.
The first mitp's I went to were great but then you get board of seeing the same cars/ trade stands, I really like concourse cars but once you've seen one etc.

Its not just here though, when I had the cossie, the shows were great, loads to do, but now most of them keep them tucked up at home in the garage so the shows are just full of people just wandering around. lol

I've been tinkering all day mostly, except for a minispares visit. Managed to fit and tighten up new wheel bearings, fit a 7.5 conversion, change steering rack gaiters, fit an exhaust and a new mount, cable tie up the driveshaftsl gaiters and currently I'm sat inside the mini fitting the radio because it's cold and windy outside
MOT deadline for this car is Saturday morning, and so far it's looking good!

How about a RR day the day before Combe?

One of these was held back in 2002 and then everyone camped over, could be a good excuse to get everyone together and break down

The problem I have with the post you just wrote fuck the engines, yeah we want fun but make the car more individual, it doesn't have to be big it can be small.

I've never seen anyone be frosty as such to a user, I just know it doesn't really interest a lot of forum users. If I thought it would, and electrical bits of gubbins, I'd possibly throw some pics up.

interesting point though; the forum can be a bit frosty to certain styles and build types - I have seen this a little too frequently in the past couple of years and I'm sure a few people have to sent packing as a result. Don't get me wrong, there is some stuff that should be banned from these pages but Andy is one of our biggest contributors!

I'd like to see some pictures, I'd like to have a fairly comfortable interior so ideas for seats, trim, audio etc would be good to see.

Is the showdown done forever, or was it just a scheduling issue for this year?

I personally have been working 70+ hr weeks for the past 2 years. That has changed recently though, and will have a nice new emerald ECU landing for the next modification to my mini this week.

At some future point on my list is making a beam and some lightweight trailing arms. OK, this is nothing that special, but I am doing my own thing, not just plagiarising what others have done before.

Exactly my design brief really.
I'd like to use it for most of the 'summer' months (whatever they are) and with the audio competitions all over the country, it's got to be reasonably comfy and reliable.

I reckon arranging a meet at a general rwyb would be a good laugh or the ultimate street car meet. At least then we'd get to race some different cars.

Im working on my car most days, during breaks at work etc.. And it will be ready for next summer so I'm going to try and get to as many shows as I can next summer.

How about all putting some money in towards some trophies and arrange a meet at a drag strip. That way people have something to work towards and once you've paid into the pot, it kind of gives you the motivation to make it there and race?

It's nice to see a busy thread with a good discussion going on. Personally I've not lost motivation, but a lack of money & time for the last few years have put a halt to anything other than work.
I'm desperate to drive mine, but I've not even had time to MOT it this year.

Well talking of developments, there is a guy in Italy having a go at making some alloy rods. Post on TMF

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.
