Now that's a service!

Can't believe how much room there is down the back of yours, with the log manifold.

Obviously I've got a bulkhead box, I have also relieved the subframe where the downpipe passes. It doesn't look like it will interfere with the downpipe if it isn't removed, but that is one of the reasons I need to check it with a more standard setup.

It could be the pic or something you have already noted, but the bottom section doesn't seem to be parallel with the floor pan, by the time the middle section get to the back box it would be well out?

It should be possible to rotate the downpipe at the turbo to bring the downpipe towards the centre of the tunnel and further up. I'll have play with it this week and get some pics.

Where abouts does a "normal" centre section come to? I guess the downpipes may need to be about 6" or so longer?

Yep will do. I have some manifolds all ready, so as soon as I get the first downpipe fitment sorted it shouldn't take too long to have complete kits ready.

Was going to ask about your subby being cut but you've already answered it.

Will it clear a verto clutch slave cylinder?

Looking forward to the final product and delivery *smiley*

Yep it'll clear the slave cylinder fine.

My flanges have arrived today, and I am posting the downpipe off tomorrow to see if it can be formed as one. So with a bit of luck by the end of next week the first downpipe should be ready for Hazpalmer to try out... No pressure! Lol

I have asked for them to be 200mm longer than the one in the photo, to make sure it overlaps the centre section, as the slotted end of the centre section will need to be cut off to allow it to fit inside the downpipe. the downpipe will have slots cut into it for clamping onto the centre section. This will make it 50mm longer than a manflow downpipe, which will allow a 2" overlap on the centre section.

I'm planning on running a 57mm centre section on my exhaust so if you'd like to do the same, let me know and I'll not put the slots in.

Unless I get a ridiculous quote for the the forming (which i doubt) they will be priced at £150.

Next week maybe a problem, I didn't think they'd be ready so quick. I'm not back from Kenya until the 4th of April. And I doubt my wife would be able to fit it to my mini haha. So if anyone else can step forward and help a bitter sooner that maybe better.

I've got a manifold and a turbo but no car to try it on at the minute.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

In the first picture the compressor outlet appears to be very close to where the crossmember should be. Is there enough clearance to retain the cross member?

Yep, a lot of people have fitted them with a crossmember in place. I'm sure there are some pics on here somewhere.

I spoke to my pipe bender yesterday, and they were hoping to get it on the machine today or tomorrow to see if it can be done on there machine. I'll give them a call tomorrow to how they are getting on. Should hopefully have the first one back by the end of the week.

Well the formed downpipe is winging its way to me, should be with me tomorrow! *happy*

Will get the final downpipe mocked up, trial fitted and then get some pics. They said that its only a couple of days lead time, so once I know it'll all fit in a standard engine bay it shouldn't be too long before they are ready.

Nick, the downpipes are £150. The first one is now complete, apart from finding out if where Hazpalmer wants his lambda boss. Due to many people using different size centre sections I can supply them with either a reducer to 2" or 1 3/4" which will be welded onto the downpipe ready for a clamp joint to centre section.

Pics...to follow when my photobucket starts working! As I can't work out how to do IMG codes on my iPad I've just attached them. Lol
