I have adjustable tie rods, is this whats responsible for all the negative camber on my mini? Is it ok to shorten them and will this bring in the wheels a bit?

Theres far too much, to be honest id preffer it without minimal negative camber for minimum tyre wear.

Where do you lot go for your tracking done or do you do it yourself? would you trust somewhere like ATS?

The boring bloke who runs this place.

camber doesnt cause tyre wear that much, buggered tracking does - get that checked and you should be OK

nice one ok thanks alex.

Im going to have the same problem i had with my red mini, nobody can do my tracking because they cant get the guages on, so which is is the best way to get it as close as possible..

a) fit 12" steelies and get tracking set with these one

b) raise suspension up 2" to fit on guages

Feebs if you raise your car by 2" the chances are it will change your tracking, as most cars have a little bump steer.

I've never had a problem fitting tracking gages to my minis, try to find a garage which has the dunlop mirror gauges

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

kwik fit, if you take it there you may as well be talking in greek to them....*frown* from the standard motors of today (Honest)

you need to know what the camber is set at now

if its adjustable the thread will be UNF and for every full turn of the rod 360 deg, it will give you 1/2 degree depending which way you go!

now then like pete says if you decrease the camber you alter the Castor

you are pitching the wheels further to the back of the car

if you are viewing it from the top of the car so ..... the caster needs to be altered

if you dont adjust the castor it gives the TEA Trolley affect and that is dangerous to say the least its like been on a boat and almost impossible to drive

you need to go to the right place to sort this

i have all the gauges ...etc and can do the job ....but iam too busy at the mo feebs

i suggest you replace the standard arms and and tie bars, this will sort thing till you get a lot more experienced *wink*

its not rocket science but most people find this a shade confusing

hope this helps you
