Most people use an intercooler from another vehicle, Renault 5, RS Turbo etc..

given that you live in California some very effecient will be needed, it is more than a intercooler is needed to keep it all together. a good rolling road session is the good money spent.

I've got a concern about chargecoolers... in that they are not as great for a road car, particually one in a 'warm' climate, as many believe... You are still relying on air to do the overall cooling... For Drag racing (or quick power runs on some rollers) this is fine of course, as chilled water can be used, but for the open road, i'm just not convinced... On 17th Nov, 2014 Tom Fenton said:

isnt the intercooler for the series 2 Escort RST slightly better for its size that the 5GT? A quote from our man dave in minimag "its incredibly efficient for its size" To the best of my knowledge they are slightly easier to source too, i see them all over the place NO LONGER A <3 lover of BOLT-ON plastic <3 ....
