dont mean to point out the obvious, but continual knocking is gonne be something rotating (obviously) not the exhaust hitting the floor. If its going with the speed of the car its gonne be something on the drivetrain, so wheels, driveshafts, hubs, diff etc would be the first places to look, but not necessarily whats actually knocking.

i had revolution wheels and the wheel nuts were too long. the nuts were tight and the wheel seemed to be as well. after 200miles i notice a slight noise so ignored it. then in traffic on the M40 the noise got quite bad, i pulled into some roadwork and found the problem! |

I had an annoying cv problem, it would make the noise while pushing the car forward or back on a bit of lock, ended up being an inner cv -MINI CLUBMAN 1380 TURBO- |
