can i make a beam axel from a rear subframe?

how to lighten my shell as much as possible? whats the best methods,

what do you use to cut holes in the body like the rear valence or bonnet & door frames, i have holesaws is this the tool for the job, many thanks

no, but you can do what you are thinking. A beam axle is something completly different (solid beam between the wheels). You can remove the the rear of the subframe and just use the healboard part to mount the radius arms. You will also need to put extra mounts on the healboard.

best way to lightness is replace metals with lighter vesions and remove all the non-unitary bits. Get to Avon at the weekend and have a sniff around carl austins and paul wigintons cars, these are very light.

I used a hole saw to great effect on my car.

If you strip a subframe down, you'll find the radius arms and brake drums are most of the weight.

If you cut the rear part of the subframe off the heal board you'll find it weighs fook all compared to the rest of it!
