To be honest buddy if you still have the same problem with the crank locking up with a newly reground crank and matching bearings, it points to a problem with the block.....e.g. one of the bearing caps is either not locating properly, or one of the caps is distorted?
Give us the full story as to what has happened?

yes i agree to best bet it to one cap at a time to see which one it is causing the problem and make sure you get them the right way round as the one on the oil pump en or center one you can easily fit arse about face with out thinking about it.

always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas

Yes, it really is easy to get the caps round the wrong way, check and double check that they are right.

Is it locking up with just the 3 main bearing torqued down?

They only go on one way with all the casting numbers the same way around.

Is the block know to you, ie have you used it before so you are sure you have a matching set of caps to block.

I have PM'd you my Mobile number so give me a call and i could talk you through what to look for.
