as most of you know, i have has some problems with my crank, today i had it back from the machine shop. has been reground and new bearings have been supplied.
If it breaks... build a much faster one |

To be honest buddy if you still have the same problem with the crank locking up with a newly reground crank and matching bearings, it points to a problem with the block.....e.g. one of the bearing caps is either not locating properly, or one of the caps is distorted?

yes i agree to best bet it to one cap at a time to see which one it is causing the problem and make sure you get them the right way round as the one on the oil pump en or center one you can easily fit arse about face with out thinking about it. always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas |

Yes, it really is easy to get the caps round the wrong way, check and double check that they are right.

i have seen an oversize shell bearing in a pack of new shells ..just one befor now

Again thanks for the help. since i last posted i have biult her up ready to go back in tomorrow, so all being well a bit of testing tomorrow and friday, then see you all at Avon. If it breaks... build a much faster one |

Is it locking up with just the 3 main bearing torqued down?
