Very happy!!! Car passed MOT today with no problems at all.

It decided to break down on the way home though when the same problem which i thought was fixed came back and it decided to cut out all the time. I made it to pot_dans house and we took the carb apart and checked everything and it all seems fine. We also replaced the spring with a highboost one.

I think now my problem might be the fuel pressure regulator. I fully screwed out the adjusting screw and put a small ammount of WD40 in the hole but made no difference.

Tomrorow im going to pipe up the pressure guage and see how the fuel pressure changes when its about to cut out.

Definately going to do a carb rebuild on it, but really really trying my best to make it driveable to get to avon :( i really want to know whats causing it to do this.

Does anyone know what happens when the diaphram is broken in a fuel regulator? what are the symptoms?

haha ok, wish i had another fuel regulator to try in time for avon.

Im starting to worry that it might not be ready in time though! Ill see what fuel pressure is doing tomorow.

Thanks alot for all your help nic helping me get it on the road and running!! it would still be in bits without your guides you did!

Well done mate!

When my diaphram was goosed the needle on my fuel pressure gauge kept jumping about all over the place! Mite be worth checking you're rubber fuel lines near the tank, my outlet from the tank to the pump was kinked when i un kininked it it was a lot better!

Cheers matt

You need to set the fuel pressure with a gauge and check it as it boosts it needs to be around 3.5psi (I think from the top of my head) higher than boost all the time.
