Turbo Mini Forums

i do all my jobs on my mini, but have never put an engine together, i.e rebuilt/reconditioned one, is there anyone here in the midlands that would be willing to show me how! if i get the approriate parts etc etc

preferably, i would like to put a fast road 998 turbo together so its ready to put in the car,

my main objective tho is to know how to put a good replacement unit together, i've always wanted to, but need a knowlagable guiding hand/tutor with patiants of a saint! as much tea 'n' grub is yours! many thanks!

that would be superb if i could get a bit of help & tution to put a motor together, i would go down the route of just get the parts needed, get the manuals out & bug ppl for help, but if i could get some experianced help that would make my yr after some rough times to be honest! i'm unsure if i should go down the 12g295 head route or pocketed blocked and turbo head route? i have the standard turbo parts but wanted to ask, can the mirage kit be used on the small bore heads also? cheers for your help guys

Mines a 1litre turbo with the metro trubo head on and its great fun to drive! its so good when the boost comes in and drives really well, but im using a T2 turbo not a T3

that would be gr8 if someone in coventry or the surrounding area could give me a hand to put this 998 turbo engine together!

maybe i'm a bit ahead of myself, but do you think a 1/4mile pass of 15.5 or less is possible with a 998 turbo motor,

it'll have a metty-turbo dizzy, cam choice-not sure? would like to keep the block a 998cc if possible (pocketed) but the whole rotating assembly nicely lightend & balanced,

i'm after a quick accelerating car really, to give me the extra i need on country lanes, so when i overtake someone & they put the boot down, i can get past super quickly an safely, i'm sorting the handling ie: bushes, negative camber bottom arms, hi-lows, rear camber brackets, front solid mounts etc etc now! i'll post some pics in the 'show me yours' this should be done within 2weeks (including weekends) then i'll be starin the prep for the parts for the 998 turbo build, anyone interested in this project of mine, it interests me any parts you guys think are usefull & could donate would be gr8, any info & advice, if all go's to plan, i'd like to do some trackdays, run-what-ya-brung days! etc, so hope to see you' guys there!
