Hi, please can someone give me some info on Avon as I am a complete beginer and have never taken a car drag racing. What do I need to bring with me and is there anything I need to do to my car? eg carch tanks, helmets etc???

Also, when does it start as I am planning to go down there tonight.

You need your driving license for definate, their rules on helmets are a bit fuzzy but if you have one take it with you.

As for the car, the "scrutineering" is basic to say the least, they will check that you have a decent brake pedal, and that your car is not leaking anything obvious. Also you have to have a catch tank for radiator overflow pipes, most people just use a pop can wedged in by the wiper motor for this. They will also check that seats and seatbelts are securely mounted. The marshalls on the start line also insist your windows are done up, so make sure you have some fitted.

It starts officially on saturday morning but camping is usually available friday night and I would suspect plenty of people will be turning up this evening.

helmet is a good idea, catch tank for the rad overflow is required.

no leaks allowed really unless its very small.

driving licence is needed.
