Hi all,

My Mini's running on Hi-Los with Adjustable Spax, and I'm about to fit new Miglia arches with either 175/50/13s or 194/45s (or 205/60s, not yet decided.) Never run the Spax on the road but assume I'll be on about setting 6 (of 12?)

Anyway - does anyone have any experience of how much clearance I need to keep between the top of the tyre and the underside of the steel wheelarch (not the Mig. arches, I'll sort them out afterwards) so that I don't burn grooves into the tyres on cornering. I know I can modify the rear arches such that the taperred section of arch/rear wing is removed and a length of a flat plate welded in, but really that's a heck of a lot of effort for perhaps another 15mm gain. I've got 100mm (vertical) tyre to arch at the moment, and can only drop perhaps another 25mm before I'll ground the exhaust coming off the driveway.

In a nutshell; is 75mm tyre-to-arch clearance enough?

Cheers guys (& gals), Dave.
