Well, Avon today, as usual a great day out with all the usual TM suspects in attendance and nice to meet a few new faces as well.

Big thanks from me must go to Mr Ball, of course for running this great site that brings us all together in a common interest, but also for giving me a drive in the world famous frog!
I think that the way the car drives is a testament to everyone who has been involved with its build in one way or another, it pulls VERY strongly for the spec of the engine, and I am sure I speak for us all when I say that I look forward to seeing it perform with some more money invested in a stronger transmission to allow it to run more boost pressure and really show us what the engine can do!
Alex did one run out on Sunday about midday, managed a 15.8sec quarter which for his first go drag racing he was quite rightly very pleased with.

I then had a go, managed a 15.4sec, not bad I thought considering I hadn't driven the car before, let alone in anger. Then, on my second attempt, I managed to get a slightly better start, and did a 15.2sec. My personal opinion is that there is more to come, and a more experienced drag racing driver would be into the 14's.

Thanks must also go out to everyone who was kind enough to donate cash to Alex following my posting previously, I am sure the man himself will follow this with a few words, but the generousity of so many people is breathtaking and makes me very proud to be part of the forum.

Oh, and as a PS, a couple of small snaps Alex asked me to add to a thread..... :)

No worries Tom - It was good to see the car being driven properly - I'm not sure what I do differently, but it shows in the times that you don't just talk the talk!

Again, I would like to thank everyone. Not just those that donated, but everyone on the site. It makes me (and the other moderators and helpers) dead proud when we see you all hanging out together. It's amazing how much of a community we've built over the last few years. Some of my best friends have been made through this site, and that really is a great thing.

As for the donatees. You're all wonderful people! I can't believe the generosity of you lot. I wish I had a way to thank you all properly! (piss up at mine, anyone?!)

Those pics I sent tom were from the Crappy non-existent disco. Vegard and Nicky getting a bit friendly, and sharing each others drinks, and Nicky with (Iain's?) cap on while very, very drunk.

Thanks for a great Avon people. If only they could sort out the 'mini only' drag racing on Sunday, it'd be the perfect weekend!
