Unbelievably, we got to the event this morning and the car woud not run with any boost. We fannied around for ages but couldn't work it out (after all we'd changed nothing).

Eventually we gave in, stickered up the elise and used that just for fun. I spun it twice in great style.

After a bit more tinkering, I found that the economy pipe thing had a split in it, changed that and hey presto it worked. It was too late to run it, but at leadt it's fixed.

We also won the class we were moved into, Ben first and me second, seperated by 0.02 seconds.

Couldn't remember the name, the little pipe that you put the 'T' piece in for the T piece trick.

No deffo the black shiney pipe. should have read this:

""Last one is that the rubber balance pipe (the one that loops from the flywheel side of the carb to the front of the carb) is split / fractured. The original shiny rubber pipe is notorious for this. If you still have it on your carb replace it before this happens!!! Even more reason, is that when it does split, it's usually a 'hairline' fracture, that is often impossible to see under normal inspection. So you've been advised - if it's shiny, replace it!""

Strangly, the only other thime we have had to use the Elise owing to the TT breaking is at the same venue.

But no, it won't become a habit. The Mini is far more entertaining to drive.
