I tried out some new suspension components and settings at Avon this year and was losing 4 tenths in the first 60ft compared to last year and only ran 13.7, with wheelspin into every gear.
I seriously doubt it! |

Mine were 2.2, the best 60fts I've ever had. Grip was not a problem for me. Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

I also managed a 2.2...something 60ft in Alex's frog, with bog standard suspension, and Dunlop SP Sport road tyres.

Yip 60ft times were down by 0.25 on last year - but only managed 3 runs so no fiddling with suspension to tune in. Was running coil over fronts this year (hi-los and spax front last year)and new coil over rears compared to last year - I'm going to put them on a damper rig to understand the valving in them. Are you still using Protech Paul?

i did 14.17sec on saturday and 14,22 on Sunday and had a 2.2sec 60ft and had no problems with grip, if anything grip was better than any other year by a long way, but then again i was using A032R tyres not the normal A008's |

Odd as usually I do 2.0 or 2.1 60s every time but this year my best was 2.38. The mods I made were new tubular bottom arms and tie bars= lower unsprung weight= better grip supposedly, and new top shock brackets which are 3/4" lower to increase droop which should be better. I think possibly having that extra droop let more weight transfer to the back as the front of the car could lift more. What do you think? Paul I seriously doubt it! |
