on the left of the pic, just behind the coil, the big rubber hose with a metal lever (?) on the end

and also, just below that, on top of the clutch housing (? again) there is a hole, with 2 bolt holes.... what's that for?

(as you can tell, i dont really have a clue when it comes to the A-Series, i'm usually a vauxhall man lol)

cheers

The valve on the head with a hose gouing through the bulkhead is the heater take-off. The leaver should be connected to the pull knob on the RHS of the centre panel (In for hot, out for cold).

The other thing is a breather, originally this would have had a pipe to the carb, best to either filter it or get a catch tank.

yeah, picked it up on friday

i figured that as the seller was only 15 miles away, and i now know where he lives, it was worth the risk not having the logbook yet

i've got part of the logbook anyway, so if i need to, i can send it off and get a complete new one from the DVLA

ooops, sorry about that *indifferent*

its a 12HD26 lump, and its pretty much rust free (nothing visible, just a tiny bit on the bonnet)

apparently, all it needs is a turbo and a downpipe, but i dont really know for sure, its the first time ive ever turned my hand to an A series, so i dont really know what should be there or not

seems like its alright though, theres loads of spares in a box in the passenger footwell, like a spare plenum and a complete set of valves and springs for some reason

he seemed like a good lad too, didnt come accross as the type to mess someone about

you never know though, i might post a parts for sale thread at some point, selling it all off lol

you defo need to get on ebay and buy a metro haynes manual to help yourself out, that way youll be able to find out what all the pipes bits etc are*smiley*

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.
