Somewhere around Swindon

removed my old turbo from manifold earlier in order to send up to benross for some special loving, i snapped one of the studs off while getting the turbo off and so decided to look at my spare turbo and manifold

took the turbo off the manifold and the three webs inside are badly melted the remains are caked in white stuff as is also the isdide of the manifold, what would cause this? obviously heat but i did not think our little engines and turbos could produce these tempratures

also can i buy the studs ? does anyone know what thread they are?

Studs manifold to turbo are M10 I believe, a piece of stainless steel studding cut to the right length will do the job as I will be suprised if the OE studs are still available.
