hi, havent been on for a while, was told before not to use a 286 cam in my turbo motor. was wondering why. surely this would make it really quick with a few othr mods done as well..

If i remember rightly Stuart from Vmax used to use a 286 in his famous black Mini, with some sucess.
Big cams in Turbo motor will give the power, eventually, but you'll not find much low down.
Now things like the phase 2 have appeared, which will still deliver the goods power wise, but with far better driveability.

wel im on a tight budget, just building it from parts lying around really. got a big valve head, t2 turbo, mg metro block. investing in sc drops and a 4 pin dif, think we will just see what happens...

another question though, i have a few mg metro engines in standard bore, but the one im using (with about 30k on it) seems to have different pistons, with a greater dish than the other ones i have. looked at the engine number on the net, jus says its a standard early mg metro engine. wondered if these are supposed to have different pistons? would the greater dish on them reduce cr slightly? hope im not sounding too dull!
