me and bud666 werer putting the final peices onto the engine again last night but we came accross a problem...

after fitting the flywheel th engine locked up solid (stnd pre-verto, stnd backplate, fast road plate and orange diaframm).

Upon invertigation we found that the teeth of the flywheel were catching (well more locked against) the lip on the inside of the tranfer case.

We fitted a verto setup afterwards and thats perfect....

any ideas? have i got a worn flywheel centre?

the other thing its the flywheel wasnt catching the same all the way round... it seemed warped???*oh well*

Is it an ultralight flywheel? If you can see that the taper is fitted, then Carl A could fiz this for you.

Also, the "length" on the cranshaft does vary as well. Where does the crank come from? It might be that the taper on the crank has been resurfaced. This also moves the flywheel towards the housing.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.
