Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Ordered a air temp gauge. cant remember but small thread type thing, bosch one.

basically i cant decide where to fit it:

1.) In the plenum
2.) in the top of the inlet manifold
3.) in the end of the inlet manfold above where the water pipes used to be.

Also my new water temp sensor, guessing i'm ok to fit in the thermostat housing? will be fine when its open, just not as accurate when not i guess but not far off. its a 72 stat anyway.

I want to leave the other one in place as its a mechanical gauge thats spot on and the leccy one is for the ecu.

Finally finishing the last annoying bits off rather than leaving them!

just thought, guess it wont like fuel so best in the plenum. guessing it wont matter too much where, its all going to see plenty of air. its one of nic's plenums.

was going to get the rover ones that fit in the IC pipes but no scrappy time for me!!

plenum is normal.

You need the coolant temp for warm up - so the head is ideal - the other place wont help you much in theory.

i'll make something to fit it on the heater outlet pipe i think. as i said, i want to leave the other one in the right place for the minute.

thought plenum sounded about right. nice and easy *smiley*

wouldn't it be best to fit a couple of sensors at different points, and have a multi position switch to change what sensor your reading, at least that way you can check that the temps are consistant throughout the engine. etc.*happy*

i can see what your saying but at the end of the day the real thing that matters is the temp to the combustion chamber/
