hi

im thinking about buying a mini sport sc cr box of somone.
he says the ratios are:

1st 2.87
2nd 1.82
3rd 1.33
4th 1.00

do you know who make this ratio or is it minisports own brand, if so should i steer away from it as this is usally the case people recomend with them!!
or is it a jacknight or similar item made for minisport only and actoly pritty good?
any help or ideas please

cheers

Near Daventry, midlands

This might be old information as its been a long time now.

Minisport used to buy their gearsets off Quaife, good manufacturer, infact probably one of the best. However, they never sprayed/coated (moly i think it was, but am not sure) the synchro faces so you could use the std baulk rings. Instead you have to use Bronze ones which have been NLA for a long time (read many years). this causes a problem which cant be cheaply rectified, minisport just ignored it and continued to use std baulk rings (which dont work well).

They may have finally run out of the set, but i doubt it somehow. If they have then maybe they suplpy different gearsets now.

Personally i'd be looking to buy from JK or Minispares.

I've seen the future and tbh its Pie

I wouldn't personally use a Minisport gearbox component. Full stop.
