hi, hope someone can help. i will be using an spi tank with my turbo conversion, was wondering if i need an uprated fuel pump too? also, what oil pump is recomended?is a standard pump up to the job, bearing in mind it wont be compleately standard? any advice would be apreciated, thanks. oh, and is it a good idea to use an rs turbo intercooler? i have made a cardboard copy using the measurements of the cooler, and it will fit if i move the coil. was wondering how effective these intercoolers are, as there seem to be plenty on ebay. thanks

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

series 2 rs turbo intercoolers are a good start. as are cossie ones, or TD5 ones.

fuel pump should be fine

oil pump wants to be the avonbar turbo pump

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

hi welsh dan *happy*

1st question,in short No! this pump will be ok IMO

2nd question, the hoborne eaton "STEEL BACKED" pump is more than up to the job, but...... most peeps on here tend to use the AVONBAR supaflow pump around 36 pounds the eaton pump is a lot less!

for get the minispares "all ally pump"
as thes are Crap at best!!!!! *frown*

3rd question the RS intercooler is more than up to the job when you site it in correctley!*wink*

some peeps including me are now using the cossi 2 or 4 W/D version, but the 4 wheel one take a shade more effort!

this is only my opinion othes may differ

As has been discussed before the spi tank is only good for 1bar of fuel pressure, so it wont cater for more than 10psi of boost pressure. If you wish to run more then it might be an idea to look at another pump

I've seen the future and tbh its Pie

i think the spi will do more than that to be honest. i had a mini running 12psi on one fine.

end of the day its just something to watch for.

SPi rail pressure is 1 bar, that doesnt mean its not good for more, i recon its good for 2 bar fuel pressure at least. The MPI rail pressure is 3 bar, so should be good for 4 bar

Just look for any of the rover Turbo models and rob the pump off them. Im sure I read some where that they are all the same pump, Walbro????

Should be real easy retrofit job on the spi tank

But then the standard pump should be fine unless you go silly with bananas and curly wurleys

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

I knew of a lad several years ago who ran around 1.2bar with the SPi pump.

Fact is - no-one who's fitted an SPi or MPi pump has - to my knowledge - had any problems on a 'typical' 15psi engine build.

Of course if anyone knows otherwise, then report back?
