The cage shown is a weld in type which requires a specialist install and is not for the DIY welder. You may be better off with a six point cage (bolt in). Do not be tempted to go the safety devices multipoint cage route as this is UBER HEAVY and bolts in.

If you want to go the weld in route go for some one like custom cages or rollcentre who will certify their work and will be to an MSA standard - so no probs if you ever decide to race the car or sell it to someone who does (and will give it a better resale value if you ever decide to part with it)

Some pics of my rollcentre cage which was done in 1995 using a CDS kit from roll centre and took a specialist two weeks to do.

Some one help please why does the picture not appear without clicking link? Is this a firefox problem as i used the image button to load these? You need to put img and /img in the square brackets, not url and /url. TF

Near Lincoln

just a few points..

talk to mr endaf owens on this one, and also think about just how much tubing you want/need

for instance i've got endafs old miglia and its got a bit more tubing than say jimsters and a slightly heavier gauge for optimum strength & stiffness (both made from t45), obviously jims overall cage weight is lighter than mine

check out

http://www.owensfabrication.com/index.html

i've also seen a safety devices weld-in cage being put in, and there's fairly minimal amount of tubing, with just door bars, dash bar, and rear double diagonal, not sure if it was only available in CDS, it also didn't come notched which was a bit of nightmare for the welder putting it in! Also don't forget things like steering column mounts

got a feeling custom cages did a multipoint race cage (more tubing than the safety devices one), in t45 was about £2kish fitted
