Yep search, but www.msefi.com is the best place to start your search, not here.

What is MegaJolt?

MegaJolt Lite JR (MJLJ for short) is a simple programmable ignition control ECU. It is based on Ford’s EDIS system but gives you the ability to vary your ignition timing according to both engine load and rpm. A distributor only varies the ignition timing according to engine speed, and as such is always compromised.

Benefits include:

Improved throttle response
Far superior reliability (no more wet weather problems)
Stronger Spark
Less “cammyness”

How do I get one?

MJLJ can be ordered as either a kit of parts for you to solder together, or as a pre built unit. MJLJ is an open source project with many different people working on many different projects. As such, new software and maps are being created all the time.

What other parts do I need?

Other than the ECU itself you need a Crank Position Sensor, an EDIS module, a coil pack and a trigger wheel.

The 1st three parts can either be brought direct from AFRacing new or found in your local scrap yard on a number of Fords.

What about wiring it up?

As all installations are different, as yet there is not a standard wiring harness. The connectors are supplied for you to build your own, as it’s a fairly simple due to the low number of wires needed.

Can I use this on a SPi or MPi Mini?

Theoretically yes, it would function to control the ignition timing but as it does not control the fuelling a future development called MegaSquirt would probably suit your application better.

Read this thread for a very basic intro to what it does and how to fit it.

I have moved this thread into help needed as the injection section is for the more in depth discussions........!
