On Saturday the 28th of October is the Castle Combe Stroke Association Charity day. I have been involved with this event for 11 years now and again i have been asked to supply a car a drive for the day.

For those of you that don't know it is a great day where you splash your cash and get a ride in a sexy motor around the circuit, all of the donation goes to charity. Us drivers supply the cars, fuel etc.

The range of cars is awsome, porsche, ferrari, Corvette, Radical, Westfield, the list goes on.

Many of the members on the forum, (including Nicky especially) have been and are addicted to this event.

Competition time.

I would like someone who is not a computer spaz like me to design a flyer/poster/banner call it what you will, to advertise the event. This advert i will post on as many car related forums as possible and email it to everyone in our addresses.

Something Large, bold, date, day, time (10am until 5pm),venue(Castle Combe race circuit,Wiltshire,J17 M4).Simple to read and to the point.

Obviously i would like Good pitures of my Metro and Mini with www.hc-racing.co.uk included. Also the stroke association symbol etc.

Use the links below to find pictures and details...

http://www.hc-racing.co.uk/index.php?p=18

http://www.stroke.org.uk/

http://www.castlecombecircuit.co.uk/home.asp

http://www.turbominis.co.uk/index.php?p=14&album=142 (LAST YEARS PICS)

I think i have everything covered.

Venue, date, time, The charity, etc etc

THE PRIZE!!

A 5 lap session in my Metro AND i will organise a ride in a car of your choice(allthough many drivers are very busy so within reason)

The rides can be given to a friend or loved one etc just as long as i have a name.

Remember, it is all for charity mate.

So a fortnight i will judge it.....

Thanks in advance.

I am firmly in the "computer spaz" category unfortunately!

So I'll leave this to the more gifted computer drivers amongst us!

But I will be going to the stroke day in October.

It's a compo, do one anyway. Although, don't if you're serious about the pro design bit!

If you want something 'techie wizz' i can send it over to miniresource, if you dont mind, might be able to get a couple of the graphic designers interested over there. only if u dont mind it being copied over?

I've seen the future and tbh its Pie

This year it is £30 to £50, but as the days goes on they are normally to happy to take a tenner if the drivers are willing.

Alot(not all) of the "exotic" stuff, ie, Ferraris and Porches etc are realy tame compared to hard core race cars, weather it be a Golf or Mini etc etc.

In the Mini at the same event previously i put to shame an Audi R6 , an Exige and most road going exotics.

Somebody mentioned rain, so what, the green tent always goes, as do lots of brollies.

And if it does rain, jump in a Porsche with Nick Faure and spend 10 minutes of your life sideways at 120mph.

Another fantastic car going is my best buds MK2 Golf with a 20v turbo lump in it, it has had plenty spent on the handling so is a great tool.

Come on, we are having a TM Meeting.

I think I'm done with my competition entry, there's something not quite right about it, but I haven't got the time to spend a month looking for what's wrong - haha!

JF - do you want it posted here, or should I email you with it?

Also, if you want any changes made to it, just let me know.

I am also hoping to be driving at this event again, I did so last year and thoroughly enjoyed the day, so much so that in addition to the cost of fuel and tyres etc I also personally donated £60 to the Stroke Charity myself.
In addition a few members of this forum also had a ride out with me and I think most of them enjoyed themselves too!

It will be nice to catch up with the usual suspects and as always it is nice to meet other members of this forum in person.....

I hope to see some of you there this year.

(Nicky; can you send me a copy of the excellent flyer you have done, or a weblink, so I may post it on other forums, usual email address, Thanks)
