hi,

im on with my engine build and im just wanting to make the engine rev more freely and higher!
is this down to the internals?
Is it a case of when i get them balanced do i get them lightened?
im on abit of a budget,so what do you suggest my order should be until my money runns out?
ie should i lighten flywheel, then crank ect? or another order?

all this work will be at morspeed, not me! :)

thanks martin

oh its a 998 turbo im building if this helps!

Internals is not the key to reving the head and cam are. My stock bottom end NA 998 will rev to 8k. However, I don't expect much life.

All I can say is that our 998turbo with the stock 12G940 head reved to about 6200 and produced 140bananas so I would not worry to much about rpm.

For our engine spec see:

As Ben says, cam and head.

Get simon to time the cam in to 104, might be worth slashing out on a vernier cam gear set.

I'd imagine that would suit a 998 with it short stroke moving the power up the rev range. It should still come on boost at the same rpm but pull through higher than if you dialed the cam in at 110 maybe.

A good bit of crank, rod and flywheel lightening will free it up getting there.
