Minis Won 8-6. Wouls have been more, but we had TWO people who jumped the lights on 'bye runs' (when you are racing on your own, and have to get within 0.5secs of your qualifying time)... How I laughed!!!

Hey! i was there too in a blue chinky *happy* Didnt run, but aggree watching the reliant kitten was amazing. I heard it was a yamaha R1 engine though? The first run was hillarious when everyone was laughing when it stalled up to the line then spluttered along. Then all of a sudden it let loose with the power.

Loved the alfa turbo mini. Saw miniwilliams too, bloody hell he needs to wash his mini.

OMG just found out that the guy who owns the alfa turbo (steve) only lives about a mile away from me if its the same guy!

I just got informed that this is him on here (steve) and it has a alfa turbo lump in it http://www.geocities.com/a_series_magpies/clubcars.html . might find out and see if he minds me visiting.

Betwix Harrogate and York

14.083 and a terminal speed of 96.6mph, I'm very happy with that. The fastest it's done before is 15.1.

I put the 1/8 mile time and speed into the 0-60 calculator thing (below) and got 5.2 secs, cool.

http://www.teamnabr.com/modules.php?name=C...=showpage&pid=8

I never had a last run Iain, as people have mentioned it was all a bit of a feck up. They kept telling me that I wasn't in the final top 16 run off thing so I decided to go home. Then after I'd put the car on the trailer and was just about to go, so bloke came running up to say they'd made a mistake and I should have run. The car wasnt coming off the trailer again though so I left.

Wil

Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

Miniwilliams wasnt there feeble!

Pain about the last run Wil but atleast you got a good time in. Glad to see we won!! Ill have to give some support next year.

Good job i didnt run, on the way home i "somehow" manged to shear driveshaft nut split pin and have the nut come loose!!! Not good! Limped home, surveying the damage tonight, doesnt appear to be too bad.

Be back on the road this week for sure!

There Were two reliant kitens - both green, and both QUICK!!! One (with the cut up rear arches and massive tyres was a V8) the other (13" superlights all round) was a Bike engined beastie!
Feeble - that is indeed Steve Hill with the Alfa mini. We had a great pic of him with the beetle he (by coincidence) ended up being paired against in the final. Unfortunately, he just missed out as the beetle driver (Ian Shorrock) gave it everything and pulled in his fastest 1/4 ever at the same time!

For myself, two points really stood out.
First was seeing Wil's Fantastic 998 pull times like that - mucho respect mate *wink*- and the other was hearing one of the beetle drivers (not Ian Shorrocks, but somone with a slower one) having a real argument with Steve Murty - the organiser- about one of the minis having a 'non mini' engine under the bonnet !!!! Ha ha ha ha ha!!!

LOL No I really wasn't there, I have had people say before that they had seen me at places i've never been to and areas that were impossible to get to when i was miles away, so there must been a copy cat out there!

Best 1/4 mile 13.2 seconds @116 mph
