What parts can I get anodised on the carb apart from the dashpot, also what kind of paint could I put on the inlet manifold (would manifold paint stay on it and not crack or melt)

Thanks

Fair enough, what about cleaning it all up then as it does look a bit of a state at the moment and as I am in the process of stripping and rebuilding it might as well look as new as possible.

Shall I use paraffin or white spirit, something else?

Paraffin or white spirit along with a good wire brushing will do fine.

be carefull using a wire brush. You can scratch the aluminium.
Wash it gentle and polish it. Then you can get a crome like finish

Best thing I found for polishing aluminium is wool felt and a real fine grinding paste. It makes it like a mirror.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

there is not a paint on the market that you or i, we,
can afford which will stand the heat on the ex manifold

the carb and the inlet manifold as the gents state above..............

with the solvents try one of those scotch brite scowering pads you can pick up from the supermarket

these work a treat *wink*

use Rubber gloves though! *laughing*
